ArchSF
ArchSF is an app to help San Francisco residents and tourists discover the city’s architecture. The app features information about historic landmarks as well as curated self-guided tours, and its visual design reflects key characteristics of SF’s unique identity.
Defining the App
Problem & Solution
San Francisco is known for its eclectic and historic architecture, and many visitors and local architecture fans might be interested in discovering the city’s most architecturally significant buildings. Unlike existing travel apps and guides highlighting general tourist attractions, this app provides specialized information and guides on architectural landmarks.

Users
I wanted this app to be useful to both tourists as well as SF locals. I included the save feature to help tourists plan a future visit, but also to allow locals to revisit places they’re interested in. Furthermore, the Itineraries page is tailored specifically to tourists, giving them the option to follow a day-long curated itinerary centered around a specific interest.
For maximum flexibility, the app allows users to search and explore landmarks freely through either the map or list view. Users can also filter by specific neighborhoods, architectural styles, and building types.
Design System
The app’s visual design draws from San Francisco’s own unique visual identity. The color palette echoes the colors of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, while the slanted shapes mirror the city’s famously steep hills.
